Shakil Ahmed is a human rights activist and secretary of Nirbhay Bano Andolan (NBA), a group that has been working towards making the state government more accountable to its citizens. A lawyer himself, Ahmed has been fighting against the torture meted out to the accused during interrogation and detection. Ahmed spoke to DNA about Mumbai police's response about the number of custodial deaths to the RTI query filed by activist Chetan Kothari.
